Chance for Children Foundation filed a strategic case in July 2005 concerning segregation of Romani students in certain schools run by the municipality. The County Court of first instance rejected the claim by the Foundation in November 2005. On June 9, 2006 the Debrecen Court of Appeals established the violation of the equal treatment principle in relation to Romani children.
